19/04/2010 Dinner
Ingredients:
1 Can Baked bean
few hotdogs (cut)
5 tbsp water
Method:
1) Pour baked bean into pot
2) Put hotdogs together with water bring it to boil
3) Ready to serve
Isn't it simple? Try it!
Ingredients:
1kg prawns (removed head and shell and deveined)
2 fresh tomato (cut into quarters) (i didn't put this)
4 tbsp tomato sauce (i put 6 tbsp)
1 tbsp vinegar
sugar and salt to taste
Minced garlic (i put about 5 tbsp)
8 tbsp water (if it's too dry u can add more water)
Method
1) Heat wok, sautee garlic till fragrant.
2) Add in prawns and cook till they turned pink.
3) Add in tomato sauce, vinegar, and water.
4) Seasoned with sugar and salt.
5) Add in tomatoe and stir for a few sec.
ps: if you want it more simple to prepare this dish, buy those ready mix paste from supermart. (Garlic prawn)
Sambal kangkong
Ingredients:
1 lb kangkong
1 oz dried shrimps, chopped
2 shallots, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons of sambal belacan
3 tablespoons of water
2 tablespoons oil
Sambal belacan
5-6 fresh red serrano chilies, sliced and do not de-seed completely
2-inch piece of belacan, toasted until fragrant
4 teaspoons of lime juice
peel of ½ a lime, sliced thinly
(ps: if you are lazy to prepare the sambal belacan u can buy those off the shelve)
Method:
1. Pound all the ingredients of the sambal belacan but not too finely.
2. Put 2 tablespoons of oil in a wok over medium high heat. Fry the shallots until they are caramelized - about 3-4 minutes. Add the dried shrimps and the garlic. Stir-fry for 1 minute then add the sambal belacan and continue frying for 1 minute. Put in the kangkong. Mix it well with the rempah or spice paste already in the wok. Add the water. Cook until the kangkong leaves are wilted.

Lotus Root Soup
Ingredients :-
1) Lotus Root
2) Red Dates
3) Dried squid
4) Raw Peanuts
5) Honey Dates
6) Pork ribs and chicken ribs
Method -
1) 1. Blanch pork ribs in boiling water for about 5 minutes, to remove the scum so that you have clear soup later.
2) Preparation of soup is the easiest. Aft you have blanch the ribs Throw everything in the pot of water and let it boil. Simple right?!! For best results, let the water come to a boil for 20 mins and then only lower the fire (simmer) and boil for another 2 hours.
Fried Ginger with pork
Ingredients
4 Ginger, sliced thinly
2 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
150g Pork (preferred tenderloin), thinly sliced
4 Spring onions cut to 2-inch lengths)
2 tbsp Oyster sauce
4 tbsp of water
1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine (Shaoxing)(optional)
1 tbsp of corn starch to mix with water
pepper
Method
1. Mix oyster sauce and water together and leave it aside
1. Fry the ginger, then garlic and pork until the pork is browned.
2. Add in the mixture sauce, pepper and fry for a couple of minutes. (not too long)
3. Add in spring onion.
4. Mix in the corn starch to make the sauce thick (do not make it too thick)
Steam Fish
Ingredients:
1 Ginger sliced thinly
1/2 rice bowl of Soya Sauce
1 rice bowl of water
2 tbsp of sugar
2 tbsp cooking oil
2 cod fish
Method:
1) Mix soya sauce, water, sugar together and bring it to boil(taste to make sure that is not too salty, if too salty add some more sugar)
2) Stir fry ginger with 2 tbsp of cooking oil till the ginger turn brown (not burn)
3) Steam cod fish
4) When the fish is cook pour the mixture onto the fish and put the ginger on top together with the oil.
5) Serve it while hot!
